- "Fight with all your might, you cannot win, my Prince."
The Executioner is a common enemy encountered in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.
- "Unlike the Keeper and Pirates who serve beneath them, Executioners don't suffer from a lack of intelligence or insecurity. They are focused, dedicated warriors who aim solely to please the Empress of Time. These creatures should be handled with extreme caution."
- —Official Booklet Description
Executioners are dedicated warriors to their service of the Empress of Time. They attack the Prince, assaulting him with large and heavy weaponry. Executioners are well armored, defending them from most of the Prince's standard attacks and combos.
After they are killed, their weapon, the Menog Mace, can be used by the Prince to confront stronger enemies. However, like most of the weapons, they break after an extended period of time. Executioners are typically encountered in the Prison area, in the Library, in the Foundry, and on the Cliff.
Defeating the executioners can be extremely easy. They, like other standard enemies, are susceptible to aerial attacks and grabs. If you are fighting one Executioner, killing is as a simple as grabbing and strangling them. Upon their death, the player can use their weapon, the Menog Mace, which leaves enemies open to additional attack after they're knocked down.
However, Executioners are rarely alone. When fighting multiple Executioners, stay alert. If one attacks the player with a combo, a considerable amount of their life bar will be depleted. Rewinding time during an Executioner attack to avoid death may be hard to avoid. If the player attempts to rewind to a specific point, they may be caught by another attack.
Keep vaulting over them, try to get them to attack each other. Repel off of walls to do the most damage at once. In one room in the prison, you can toss them into a pit in the center of the room. You'll encounter the Executioners in the room above the area where the Thrall resides. In that second room, there are columns you can use to perform column spin attacks.
Also in the second room, there is a pit of spikes in the corner. The Executioners can be killed by throwing them into the pit. You can slow down the time for an easier fight, or you can dispatch the Executioners with preferred combo attacks. Breath of Fate can knock Executioners down, which allows players to kill them while they were still stunned.
