- "Babylon has always been home to a large and vibrant guild of thieves. However, when the Vizier struck, they quickly allied themselves with the Babylon's defenders. For the first time in the city's history, guard and criminal fought side by side against a common enemy. Alas, in the end, the Vizier claimed Babylon and intended to expand his evil empire even further. Having personally fought against members of the thieves guild, the Vizier saw within them a potentially powerful ally. He ordered his men to capture as many of them as they could. Though the thieves would not swear allegiance, they became corrupted and lost their free will, resulting in the illusion. These creatures dart about, always keeping distance between themselves and their prey. They stop just long enough to launch a quick barrage of throwing daggers before slipping out of enemy hands."
- —Official Booklet Description
The Illusions are captured thieves of Babylon's thieves guild, tainted by the Sands of Time. They once banded together with the soldiers of Babylon to protect the city from the Vizier when he and the Scythians invaded Babylon.
Despite their efforts, they were bested by the Scythian's. Impressed by their abilities, the Vizier had the Scythians capture what members of the guild they could and transformed them with the Sands of Time. They now have the power to dart quickly around, and harass the Prince by throwing daggers at him from a distance.
Speed Kills are of no use against these foes, as they only appear when the Prince reaches a specific spot. Though fast, they are also weak, and once "caught", they can be killed from only a few simple strikes. The fact that they attack in groups can be exploited after killing as little as one of them; their daggers have a throwing power, and each Illusion drops two upon death. Using their own daggers to quickly get rid of them is a very effective strategy.
- Illusions are similar to the Silhouette in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. However, while Silhouette is capable of fluent talking, Illusion are capable to produce only unintelligible shrieks.
- All Illusions appear as feminine beings.
