Biography
Edit
One fateful day, Sharaman made a secret alliance with the Vizier to the Maharajah of India, who betrayed his master in return for a share of the plunder in the treasure vaults.
Sharaman defeated the Indians and took back many gifts, but angered the Vizier by allowing his son to keep the Dagger of Time as a memento of his first victory, as well as keeping the Hourglass as a gift to the Sultan of Azad.
The First Death
Edit
Once in Azad, Sharaman gave the Hourglass to the Sultan, who questioned its glowing interior. The Vizier tricked the Prince into opening the Hourglass, turning all but himself, the Prince and the captured Maharajah's daughter Farah, into sand monsters.
Sharaman became a vicious sand monster and became known as the Sand King, this made him into the first boss the Prince encounters. He remained in this state until he was destroyed by his own son. This death was erased, however, by the Prince's Grand Rewind.
The Second Death
Edit
With the events in Azad erased, Sharaman returned to Persia with the Prince and continued to rule justly. At some point, however, the Prince leaves his father after a heated argument. It is not revealed directly what the argument was about, but it must have happened after the events of The Forgotten Sands, leading to the death of the Prince's brother Malik during Prince's visit—a death with no living witnesses to confirm the Prince's story.
Some time after that, the Prince left for the Island of Time in the hopes of stopping the Dahaka, who found and pursued the Prince for his defiance of the Timeline. Whilst the Prince was away, Persia was attacked by the forces of the Vizier, who drove Sharaman into the palace's catacombs and dispatched him. His sword, however, was recovered by the Prince, and his death provided his son with the willpower necessary to overthrow the Dark Prince.
In the Sands of Time Film
Edit

Added by PrincessfarahHe was murdered by his brother Nizam, this mirrors his death by the Vizier's hands in the Sands of Time game. He was later returned to life when Dastan used a Grand Rewind near the end of the film.
Strategy
Edit
The Sand King blocks all attacks from front and can be attacked only by vaulting. But in order for him to be vulnerable, you have to dispatch all the other enemies in the room. Stay away from Farah, or the enemies will attack her. Moving away from her will lure the enemies towards you. Don't attack the Sand King, just block his attacks, as he can block all. Remember, the Sand King can hit the Prince even when he is blocking by hitting his legs, like the Blue Sand Generals and Sand Blacksmiths, so be careful. Try not to get surrounded, if you do get surrouded, vault over someone to escape(the ones you can vault over includes the Sand King). After all enemies are dispatched, continuously vault over and hit the Sand King untill he falls and retrieve him to begin a cutscene.
