Biography
Edit
Malik is the Prince's older brother, and was a mentor to him when they were younger. It was Malik who showed the Prince how to hold and fight with a sword. As children, Malik took care of the Prince while their father, Sharaman, fought many battles. As adults, the two enjoy teasing one another. The Prince still looks up to Malik and follows his lead, even when he’s sure Malik is wrong. For his part, Malik is still protective of the Prince and doesn’t think his younger brother understands exactly what good leadership entails.
Malik is a good leader, but stubborn. He has held this kingdom for years and refuses to give it up now. He will use any means necessary to stop the invading army – including magic he does not fully understand.
Malik dies after he stabs Ratash, the leader of the Sand Army which Malik unlocked to save his citizens. However, his plans backfire when the Army turns all of his citizens into sand statues. Ratash then killed Malik partially and took over his body. When the Prince kills Ratash (who has taken over Malik's body so much that it is now in its original form), Malik regains his original body, but is too weak and dies.
It is unknown if Malik took part in battle against the Maharaja before the Prince made the Grand Rewind. It is possible that he was taking care of his own kingdom at that time or was transformed into a Sand Monster as King Sharaman was, but the Prince didn´t mention fighting his brother as a Sand Monster.

Trivia
Edit
- The name Malik may be a reference to another Ubisoft game, Assassin's Creed where one of the Assassins that helped the main character was also called Malik. He also looks like Bartolomeo d'Alviano another character from Assassin's Creed.
- "Malik," in Arabic,Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, and Persian means master, or owner.
- Malik is the mixture of both Tus and Garsiv in the Sands of Time movie because he is both a leader, older and is a good swordsman.
- Malik's armor is also an alternate skin for The Forgotten Sands.
