"He's the one the Empress wants dead!"
—Raiders

Raiders are a common enemy encountered in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.

Official Description[]

"Built from the remains of hapless pirates and merchants lured to the Island of Time. Raiders are mostly common fodder for the Empress' army. These simple sand creatures are not particularly dangerous on their own; however, it is rare to encounter a lone Raider, as they often travel in packs. On some occasions, they are joined by the more powerful Keepers and Executioners."
—Official Booklet Description[1]

Biography[]

Raiders are skull-helmed sand creatures that are able to wield a varying array of large weaponry.

The Raiders were commanded by Shahdee, who was sent by ship to attack and kill the Prince before he could arrive at the Island of Time. Following the failure of their mission, Raiders are largely located on the Beach and the Cliffs of the Island of Time. They are later encountered throughout the Fortress of Time.

Gameplay[]

Strategy[]

Raiders do not block and their attacks are easy for the player to avoid. However, it is rare for one to encounter a single raider as they are often fought in packs. Raiders are capable pulling off a three-hit combo that depletes the player's life bar if given the opportunity.[1] However, their weakness lies in their reaction time. When the Raider attempts to strike the player with a kick, players can avoid Raiders' attacking by parrying or blocking.

Later in the game, they are especially easy to kill if the player has the Scorpion Sword or the Water Sword. The Raiders normally make shrieking noises as soon as they see you, either to notify the other Raiders nearby. During combat, they taunt the Prince as he approaches on occasion. They are the weakest enemies in the game, aside from Crows.

Known Inconsistencies[]

  • In the Prince of Persia Warrior Within Official Strategy Guide for Warrior Within, Raiders are referred to as "Keepers".[1] However, a promotional gameplay video that is unlockable in the video gallery for Warrior Within, identifies the skull-helmed enemy type as "Raiders".[3]
