"Scythian archers have honed their skills on horseback, traveling the northern plains in pursuit of beast, fowl, and rival tribesmen. Skilled marksmen, t hey have impressive aim and can imbue their arrows with tremendous force and speed. They do not fit the traditional stereotype of archer being smaller, weaker units. In fact, they have modified their bows to be effective at range and in melee combat. Sharp bone spikes attached to the bow can be used to grab and rend enemies who stray too close. When the Vizier absorbs the Sands of Time, the archers are transformed into sand-monster versions of themselves. These creatures are known as Sand Archers."
These Scythian archers are the ranged troops of the Vizier's army. They became even more formidable after being transformed by the Sands of Time. They are common enemies in the game, wearing birdlike masks on their faces and equipped with the bow and an infinite amount of arrows.
Although weaker than the Scythian Swordsman, they may constitute a real threat, especially when shooting from an almost inaccessible location. In a direct clash they have no chance at all so the Prince may eliminate them using the Speed Kill attack. However, if paired with Guards, it is better to get rid of the Archer than the Guard, as focusing on the Guard will give time for the Archer to continuously shoot at you.
