The Thrall is uncommon enemy encountered in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.

Official Description

"To compensate for their relative weakness, these creatures have been outfitted with a set of sophisticated armor that affords them a high degree of protection. Their attacks are similar to that of the Brute and, as such, they should be approached with great caution. They will not hesitate to crush anything in their path."
—Official Booklet Description[1]

Biography

The Thrall is found in the Prison. Not unlike the Brute, the Thrall was created by the Empress of Time. However, with the Thrall, she improved upon the initial design of the Brute. With the exception of its back, the Thrall is completely covered in body armor, protecting it from attacks that would have otherwise killed the Brute or it in general.

Gameplay

Strategy

The fight against this foe is almost identical to fighting a Brute. However, the battle lasts longer, and the finishing kill attacks usually require bigger amount of cuts compared to his weaker comrades.[2] To defeat him, the player has to bring him to his knees, climb on his head, hit him with the sword continuously until he is stabbed into the back of his neck.

One easy strategy is to back him into a wall, by standing near a wall and tempting his charge attack. After he hits the wall, nothing too much will happen, he just won't be able to turn around to fight back nearly as well; so you can get at his legs more easily.[2]

Another strategy is to simply use the Eye of the Storm power to slow down time. The player can then roll between his legs and cut him down more quickly. It takes two or three slow-downs to defeat Thrall.[2]

Trivia

  • The Prince cannot retrieve Sands from killing the Thrall.
